Financial Support

FINANCIAL SUPPORT APPLICATIONS CLOSED 31 MARCH 2024

A small pool of funding is available to support Scouts WA youth members to attend the Australian Jamboree in January 2025. Any youth member of Scouts WA with a particular financial need can apply. Financial need is defined as the difference between what it costs to attend and what the applicant can afford to pay. All applications will be considered.

A requirement of acceptance of financial support is for each recipient to supply a report to the Contingent Support Team (min 200 words, photos welcome) of their Jamboree experience. This is to be submitted to jamboree@scoutswa.com.au within one month of returning from the Jamboree.

Parents or caregivers should make an application for financial support via the online form.

If approved, the financial support will be in the form of a reduction to the payable Jamboree fee, with the payment schedule being updated on the status page of the Jamboree online application system. The financial support will only contribute towards Jamboree event fees. The cost for the optional Post-Tour and any additional merchandise items such as shirts must be met by the participant.

The size of the fee reduction will be dependent on the number of requests received and the amount of funding available. As an indication, the fee reduction provided for AJ2019 was $500 per recipient, which reflected around 20 per cent of the Jamboree fee. For AJ2025, a 20 per cent fee reduction would equate to approximately $650 for a youth participant. The fee reduction for Independent Travelers would be a pro-rata amount.

Information about Jamboree event fees is available here.

Group Leaders may be contacted separately and requested to provide further information if necessary to help us assess your request.
