we have lots going on!

We are only six months away from Jamboree, so our team are really ramping up our work in preparation for the event. That means our monthly update for July is a big one.

Have a read of our important updates below.

gear list

It can be a hard task to know what you need to take to a Jamboree. To help out, we have created a gear list that you can use as a starting point.

If you haven’t already – Check out our suggested personal gear list on our website.

prejam handbook

Check out our PREJAM Handbook for all the info you need about Pre-Jamboree Camp which runs from Saturday 21 September to Monday 23 September 2024 at Scouts WA Adventure Centre – Manjedal.

leader orientation day

The Leader Orientation Day is for all adult members of the Contingent. All adults are expected to attend.

Date: Saturday 24 August 2024

Time: arrive at 8:45am for an 9:00am start. The day will conclude by 3:30pm.

Venue: Rossmoyne Senior High School, Keith Road, Rossmoyne. Parking is limited, so you are encouraged to car pool or catch public transport (train to Bull Creek Station then a short bus trip or 25 minute walk).

Catering: morning and afternoon tea provided, BYO lunch. Please note we do not have capacity to cater for modified diets at this event; morning and afternoon tea will include fruits, cheese platters, biscuits, tea and coffee.

Regional Contingent members will be contacted individually with alternative arrangements for the Orientation Day.

flight information

Individualised flight information will shortly be released via the online application system. All Contingent members will be able to log in and view/print flight details including dates and times. Keep an eye out for upcoming communications about your flights!

unit badge

Your Jamboree Scout Leader now has a shape for your Units badge to form part of the WA Contingent badge set. Keep an eye out if they contact you for some design ideas. If you are a crafty person, your Jamboree Scout Leader might appreciate some ideas for the badge.

payment reminder

Thank you to everybody who is up to date with their Jamboree payments. Deposit, first and second payments are now overdue – if you have not made those payments, it would be appreciated if you could action that urgently.

The next payment is due on 31 August 2024. You can view the payment schedule and make a payment on our website.

program and service leaders - virtual town hall

We are holding a Virtual Town Hall for all Program and Service Leaders attending AJ2025 as part of the WA Contingent. Program and Service Leaders are all adults not part of a Jamboree Unit.

We will share with you all the latest information about the Jamboree, and you will have an opportunity to ask any questions.

introducing our health & wellbeing team

We are very pleased to introduce our WA Contingent Health & Wellbeing Team for AJ2025. This team is responsible for supporting all members of our Contingent throughout the Jamboree, with a focus on wellbeing, modified diets, and assisting Scouts and leaders with additional needs.

Our Health & Wellbeing Team, led by Kerry Duncan and Jennifer Pitcher, includes:

  • Chris Barugh

  • Caitlin Arcus

  • Isaac Wetherley

  • Catherine Walker

  • Natascha Gray

  • Sarah Satie

blue card information

The Queensland Government does not recognise interstate working with children checks. In order to attend the Jamboree, all Contingent members aged 18 and over at the time of the Jamboree will need a valid Blue Card, which is the Queensland equivalent of a working with children check.

You will still need a valid Working with Children Check in Western Australia so as to maintain your adult membership with Scouts WA.

We strongly recommend that all Contingent members aged 18 and over at the time of the Jamboree work towards obtaining their Blue Card by 1 September 2024. You do not need to have obtained your Blue Card in order to submit your application to attend the Jamboree.

Information about how to obtain a Blue Card can be found by clicking the link below.

You may have seen on our Facebook page recently a bit of hype about our AJ2025 Contingent Shirt. We are pretty excited to share this with everyone. But, before we put it out to the world, we wanted to share an exclusive look with you first.

So here it is, the AJ2025 WA Contingent shirt.
