- All applicants must apply through, and be part of, their home Branch Contingent, and pay the applicable Contingent fee.
- The applicant’s Group Leader, Team Leader or responsible Commissioner must recommend the applicant as a suitable member of their Branch Contingent.
- Acceptance of the online application confirms compliance with the requirements in sections above.
- The Contingent reserves the right to refuse any application, in which case a full refund will be made.
- Applicants must agree to comply with all government requirements, directions, orders and regulations relevant to attending AJ2028, including any vaccination requirements that may be in place at the time of the event.
All Jamboree participants must fit into one of the categories below. Please contact us if you’re unsure about any of the requirements.
Scout
- Must be a current registered youth member in the Scout Section at the time of application and through until at least the conclusion of the Jamboree on January 7, 2028.
- Must by December 1, 2027, have completed or be working towards a Milestone in the Scout Section, and have completed Stage 3 in each of the Bushcraft, Bushwalking and Camping Outdoor Adventure Skills.
- Must have completed 10 nights camping in the outdoors with their Unit or Patrol in the Scout Section. Three of those nights must be consecutive. Camping with family or school does not count towards the 10 nights.
- Must have approval from the Unit Council and Group Leader.
- Have approval from the Unit Council.
- Must have consent from their parent or guardian.
- Must be considered by their parent or guardian and Unit Council to be of sufficient maturity and good behaviour to participate successfully in the Jamboree.
- Be approved by the Contingent Leader.
Venturer Scout - Service LEader Roles
- Must be a current registered youth member in the Venturer Section at the time of application and through until at least January 7, 2028.
- Must, by December 1, 2027, have led four activities as a Venturer Scout, and have completed Outdoor Adventure Skills Stage 3 in Bushcraft, Bushwalking and Camping.
- Must be recommended by the Unit Council, Venturer Scout Leader and Group Leader as being of excellent character, a good role model to Scouts, and having the skills and abilities to undertake the activity or other tasks nominated on the application form.
- Have consent of their parents/guardian.
- Be approved by the Contingent Leader.
Rover Scout
- Must be a registered member of a Rover Unit at the time of application and for the duration of the Jamboree, with registration valid through until at least January 7, 2028.
- Must be no older than 26 years at January 7, 2028.
- Must be recommended by their Unit Council as being of excellent character, a good role model to younger youth members, and having the skills and abilities to undertake the activity or other tasks nominated on the application form.
- Must be ready to cope with the physical requirements of the event.
- The compulsory on-demand modules Child Safe Scouting, Code of Conduct and WHS for Scouting must be current.
- Must hold a current Working with Children Check, or the equivalent check for their state or territory, valid through until at least January 7, 2028.
- Must agree to the Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct.
- Must be approved by their Branch Contingent Leader in line with Branch policy.
Line Leader
- Must hold a Certificate of Adult Membership as at September 30, 2027 and through until at least January 7, 2028.
- Assistant Jamboree Scout Leaders must hold a Certificate of Proficiency as at September 30, 2027.
- Jamboree Scout Leaders must hold a Certificate of Advanced Adult Leadership (Wood Badge) as at September 30, 2027.
- Must be ready to cope with the physical requirements of the event.
- Must be recommended by their Group Leader or Team Leader and their Branch.
- The compulsory on-demand modules Child Safe Scouting, Code of Conduct and WHS for Scouting must be current.
- Must hold a current Working with Children Check, or the equivalent check for their state or territory, valid through until at least January 7, 2028.
- Must agree to the Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct.
- Must be approved by their Branch Contingent Leader in line with Branch policy.
Service Leaders & Other Adult Supporters
- Must hold a Certificate of Adult Membership as at September 30, 2027, with registration valid through until at least January 7, 2028.
- Must be ready to cope with the physical requirements of the event.
- Must be recommended by their Group Leader or Team Leader.
- The compulsory on-demand modules Child Safe Scouting, Code of Conduct and WHS for Scouting must be current.
- Must hold a current Working with Children Check, or the equivalent check for their state or territory, valid through until at least January 7, 2028.
- Must agree to the Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct.
- Must be approved by their Branch Contingent Leader in line with Branch policy.
